Spring is a busy time at The Frame. New young horses are in for starting, foals are coming, and horses are returning to the competition arena after winter work.
This past weekend we got twelve horses off property to two different venues—a good test of winter preparation and a reminder of how much we enjoy getting back out.
First, Martin and Joe took horses to the Swan Lake Winter Finale National Show. Martin rode Uranium BC, owned by Blue Chip Bloodstock, to a win in the .90m Jumpers, and Marsh Spencer and Erin Durst’s Justified to a win in the 1.0m Jumpers. He also placed 2nd in the 1.0m Jumpers with The Frame’s Frame Nantucket S. Joe brought home ribbons as well—2nd in the .70m Jumpers with Uinica BC, owned by Blue Chip Bloodstock, 2nd with sale horse Tomashefsky BC in the .90m Jumpers, and 2nd in the $1,000 .90m Jumper Stake with Kali Barnes’s Nyela SR.
Then, Martin and assistant barn manager Alese headed to the MDHT Highland Series Horse Trials. Martin rode sale horse Magnific Coco Chanel and Tara Breuer’s What About Jack to top ten finishes in Open Beginner Novice. Alese finished 3rd in Open Beginner Novice with Kings of Leon, owned by Equisales LLC.
