This weekend was all about the youngsters for The Frame team!

Between Joe and Martin, we brought 11 horses to the Young Horse Show Series at Allforit Farm—a true celebration of our program’s focus on thoughtful development and early exposure.

Joe had a stellar weekend with several promising young horses, taking 1st in the 3-Year-Old Under Saddle with LSS Notorious, owned by Ingvill Ramberg, and also finishing 2nd and 3rd in the same class with sale horse Wednesday TF and Priscilla Barczyszyn’s Will de Mercy, respectively. He also rode Gunsmoke (owned byMargot McAllister) to the win in the 4-Year-Old Under Saddle, and Call Me Captain HH (owed by Elizabeth Houtsma) to 3rd. Joe and Nyela SR (owned by Keli Barnes) topped the 5-Year-Old Jumping, and Uliana (owned by Priscilla Barczyszyn) earned 2nd in the same division.

Martin rode Valko van de Ceia (owed by Jocelyn Arel), placing 3rd in the 4-Year-Old Jumping, and Brian WFUSA (owned by Cheryl Sherman), finishing 2nd in the 5-Year-Old Under Saddle.

We want to extend a huge thank you to the Young Horse Show Series team for creating an environment that is truly built around the needs of young horses. The atmosphere is welcoming, encouraging, and professionally run, which makes all the difference when bringing along green horses. We’re so grateful to the show organizers, volunteers, and sponsors for their continued commitment to producing shows that focus on correct development, confidence-building, and horsemanship.

I had a very difficult big young horse, who had thrown a few trainers. I searched the local area and found Martin who, without a doubt, had the quietest aids! I chose him to train my young horse and I have never been disappointed. He has done an excellent job of taming the beast, who will always be a challenge but not for Martin. As a rider and trainer, he is talented, patient and remains calm in very difficult situations unflappable, even at a show with 6 horses to ride back to back. Martin is a joy to work with, highly skilled as a trainer with a nice sense of humor and a willingness to fit in when schedules change. My four-year old, who had only been jumping for six weeks with Martin riding him, went to Upperville this year and received the reserve champion for the 4-5yr old division. When looking to purchase a horse, there is the potential for it to be a stressful experience a hard-pressure sell, uncertainty about the horse’s background and experience.
